Melody Masters Big Band Presents “Love, Healing and Hope”

The Melody Masters Big Band, directed by Dr. Marcia Bornhurst Parkes, will perform a one-hour free concert on April 28, 7 PM at the Greece Baptist Church, 1230 Long Pond Rd, Rochester, NY 14626. It will be co-sponsored by the Greece Baptist Church https://greecebaptistchurch.org/community-concerts.html and Jazz 90.1 radio https://jazz901.org/event/melody-masters-big-band/. If a little more love, healing, and hope may be needed now, a relaxing concert with just the right music may help. The audience can look forward to music by Ellington, Jobim, Mobley, and Nestico as well as works by local composers Tom Davis, Dave Rivello, and Howard Rowe. The church pastor, Steve Gretz, and his wife Leslie Lee are a highly regarded professional folk music duo. They will perform “Immigrants” with Brandon Arva, flutist.
The concert is co-sponsored by the Greece Baptist Church and Jazz 90.1 radio. A free will donation may be offered. The band is prepared to adapt to any COVID health safety updates, and to keep everyone safe the audience should wear a mask.
